Adam Scott Has Been Showing Up Since You Were In Primary School…

Background: Adam Scott's streak started at the 2001 Open Championship, he was 21, tied for 47th. Twenty-five years and one car door injury to the hand later, he's still showing up.

What happened: This week at Shinnecock, Scott plays his 100th consecutive major. Only one other golfer has ever done that - Jack Nicklaus, who made it to 146 in a row. That's the entire club. Two members.

What else: For perspective, Tom Watson got to 87. Tiger Woods only managed 46 before injuries ended his run. Rory would be sitting on 70 if he hadn't torn an ankle ligament playing soccer. Scott has no interest in chasing Jack's number. "I can't even think about playing another 11 or 12 years straight of these."

What's the key learning?

  • One Masters title. 29 wins worldwide. World number one once. Scott would love a bigger trophy haul, but this record was never about trophies. It's about a body and a game that simply never broke down.

  • Rory put it best: "To play 100 majors in a career is incredible. To play 100 in a row? Think about the level you need to be at no injuries, nothing falling apart." Scott never set out to chase a number. He just never stopped showing up!
